2015 Volkswagen Sharan order books now open in UK, delivery in October

The Volkswagen Sharan facelift revealed earlier this year will finally go on sale in the UK, with prices starting from £26,300 (roughly RM110k) to £36,280 (RM151k).

To recap, the seven-seater people carrier gets a range of updated engines that meet Euro6 emission standards and are 15 percent more economical than before. The diesel range is comprised of a 1.6 TDI with 115 hp and a 2.0 TDI with either 150 hp or 184 hp, while the petrol range consists of the familiar 1.4 TSI with 150 hp and a 2.0 TSI with 220 hp. A six-speed manual box is standard, but an optional six-speed DSG with coasting function is available for all Sharans except the 1.6 TDI.

Externally, the MPV remains largely the same, save for the obvious tweaks done to the front and tail lamps, both featuring new LED designs. On the inside however, buyers get to choose between a 5-inch composition colour, a 6.5-inch composition media or the 6.5-inch Discovery Media with navigation. They all support MirrorLink function and is Android Auto and Car Play compatible.

It also gets new upholstery, new steering wheel design and three-zone auto air conditioning system. Depending on the market and trim level, there’s Alcantara upholstered seats, panoramic sunroof and several driving assistance programmes; the latter which is exclusive to the upper-end variants.

Safety wise, the Sharan gets Automatic Post-Collision Braking System as standard, but Front Assist with integrated City Emergency Braking, traffic monitoring system, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Park Assist are some of the optional driving assistance systems on offer.

Our Sharan was launched in February 2012 and is currently priced at RM278,888.
