BMW Malaysia has recently announced a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty and a free scheduled service program for all BMW cars sold via official dealerships including the BMW M and i8 models registered from 1 June 2015 in a bid to provide better after sales service to its clientele base.
This announcement would certainly make all aspiring BMW owners out there to take a better look at the offering from Munich because the warranty now gives a service vehicle check and engine oil check which includes the filter and the oil to go along with it. That’s in accordance to BMW’s Condition Based Service (CBS). On the other hand, the service regime takes care of the likes of air filters, fuel filters, micro filters, spark plugs and brake fluids.
Excluded from the warranty and service program are components such as the front and rear brakes which naturally includes the disc and pads. Also omitted from the warranty coverage are the windscreen wipers, wear and tear parts such as halogen light bulbs and batteries for the key fob.
Worth noting though, is that BMW reserves the right to reject any defect claims by owners should they find out that the vehicle has been serviced at an unauthorised service outlet on the basis that the cars may not be properly taken care of at the hands of a skilled technician. Also in concern is the use of aftermarket parts at these outlets.
