Volkswagen announced the updated specifications of the 2015 Sharan. Most updates are under the skin, while the exterior receives a pair of new LED taillamps.
All engines offered in the Sharan have been redesigned and they are all Euro-6 compliant and up to 15 percent more fuel efficient. The diesel range comprises of a 1.6 TDI with 115 hp, and a 2.0 TDI with either 150 hp or 184 hp while petrol range consists of a 1.4 TSI with 150 hp and a 2.0 TSI with 220 hp. Six-speed manual box is standard but there’s the optional six-speed DSG with coasting function available for all Sharans except the 1.6 TDI.
The infotainment system in the Sharan has been updated too, with a choice of a 5-inch Composition Color, 6.5-inch Composition Media, or the 6.5-inch Discovery Media with navigation. MirrorLink function is available and it supports Android Auto and Car Play.
Automatic Post-Collision Braking System is a standard fitment, but Front Assist with integrated City Emergency Braking traffic monitoring system, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Park Assist are some of the optional driving assistance systems on offer.
Slated for a first public appearance at the Geneva Motor Show, the updated Sharan will go on sale in Europe in April.
