Mazda Motor Corporation has confirmed the existence of an all-new compact SUV, and as you would expect, it will be named the CX-3. The SUV is scheduled to make its global debut at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show which will begin on 21 to 30 November.
The Mazda CX-3 is the company’s fifth vehicle to adopt the full range of Skyactiv Technology, along with their new design language Kodo-Soul of Motion.
Mazda remains tight-lipped on the CX-3’s powertrain, but it’s safe to assume that the 2.0-litre Skyactiv-G engine will do all the tugging, which will be paired to their six-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission driving the front wheels. The naturally aspirated engine is the same one found in the Mazda3, Mazda5, Mazda CX-5, Mazda6 and in some markets, the upcoming Mazda MX-5.
Based on our growing appetite for SUVs, we believe that it’s only a matter of time before the CX-3 arrives on our shores. More word on Mazda’s all-new baby SUV will come this way once the LA Auto Show commences.
