Please get your Honda’s faulty Takata Airbags replaced for FREE



Honda Malaysia has just issued yet another statement to urge Honda vehicle owners to get their faulty Takata airbag inflators replaced immediately. The company is currently working closely with the Ministry of Transport (MOT) and Road Transport Department (JPJ) to urge affected owners to replace their faulty Takata airbag inflators.

If you drive any of the following models, please contact your nearest authorised Honda dealer to make an appointment or simply walk-in at any of the Mobile Hubs located at selected shopping malls or Petronas stations:

As of 20 September 2018, Honda Malaysia has replaced more than 236,800 units of Takata driver front airbag inflator which translates to a 90 per cent completion ratio. The company has completed 496,400 units or 84 per cent of Takata driver and passenger front airbag inflator replacements.

In case you are not aware, all Takata airbag inflator replacement, regardless of make and model, is free of charge and the whole process only takes less than one hour. Stock availability for both driver and passenger front airbag inflator replacements are at 100 per cent, so no excuses to delay your replacement anymore.

For owners of parallel imported (reconditioned) Honda vehicles which were not brought in by Honda Malaysia, the company urges the owners to contact Honda authorised dealers to check whether their vehicles are involved in the Takata airbag replacement exercise. Costs of parts and labour will also be borne by Honda Malaysia and will come at no cost to owners.
