Toyota GAZOO Racing fields Malaysian in Thailand Super Endurance 600 race



Mark Darwin, the race car driver from the Toyota Vios Challenge series happening at MAEPS, Serdang this weekend will be representing Malaysia with Team Asia in a Toyota Corolla Altis in the Thailand Super Endurance 600 min race.

Darwin will be teaming with drivers from Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand for the race held in December at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand. The race is part of Toyota’s initiative to develop new talent in the region by providing them with the platform and exposure to the international arena.

“We are proud to be able to name Mark Darwin for this Super Endurance 600 Race. It is a key part of Toyota’s initiatives globally to use motorsports as a means of developing not only our cars, but more importantly, to provide our talents with the opportunities that allow them to fully realize their potentials,” said Deputy Chairman of UMW Toyota Motor Akio Takeyama.

Darwin, 27, currently undergoing a four-day intense training stint at the Bira and Buriram circuits said, “It is an honour and privilege to have been selected to represent Malaysia. I’m looking forward to race with other drivers in the Corolla Altis and I hope that we will be able to get the results that would make Malaysians proud.”

Darwin would be pitting alongside the likes of Tengku Djan at this weekend’s Toyota GAZOO Racing (TGR) Festival at MAEPS, Serdang together with other celebrity drivers namely Fattah Amin, Geraldine Gan, Diana Danielle, Shawn Lee and Janna Nick to name a few.
