Paralympic gold medalists rewarded with new Kia Sportage and residential suite!

Although the closing ceremony of the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics took place not too long ago, the grand stadiums have not been abandoned just yet. Now charging at full speed is the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games.

Our national para-athletes deserves no less attention and support than the contingent that who brought back four silvers and a bronze medal. This statement held its value when our Youth and Sports Minister, Malaysian Youth and Sports Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin said all national athletes bearing the Jalur Gemilang will be incentivised equally, regardless of category. We applaud you for the just decision, Mr Khairy.

Just as our Olympians were rewarded, the Paralympians will also be duly rewarded for their courageous efforts. NAZA Corporation Holdings has announced that they will be rewarding all Paralympic gold medalists with an All-New Kia Sportage and a residential suite worth RM350,000 each!2015-Kia-Sportage-008

As of today, two para-athletes have stood atop the podium, singing Negaraku loud and proud. Mohd Ridzuan Mohd Puzi bagged a gold medal at the men’s T36 100m dash and even broke the Paralympic record with a staggering time of 12.07 seconds! Ziyad Zolkefli took the gold medal home at the men’s F20 shot putt. Ziyad’s 16.84m hurl has even broke the previous world record of 16.59m!

Abdul Latif Romly made it a hat trick for Malaysia when he emerged as the winner while smashing the world record three times in the men’s F20 long jump final. Abdul Latif, the youngest member among the para-athletes broke the previous world record of 7.37m during his second jump of 7.47m. He subsequently broke his short-lived world record at his third jump with a 7.54m distance and sealed the deal during his fifth attempt of 7.60m. Setting three world records plus a Paralympic gold medal; this 19 year old is truly extraordinary.

Three gold medals, one Paralympic record and two world record. Malaysia memang boleh!
