Shell Lubricants Malaysia launches latest range of Driveline Protection products [+Video]



Shell Lubricants Malaysia have just officially launched their new range of Driveline Protection products at the ongoing 2015 Malaysia International Trucks, Bus and Components Expo (MITBC) held at the MINES International Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The Driveline range is comprised of Shell Rimula heavy duty diesel engine oils, Shell Spirax oils for axles, transmissions and gears as well as Shell Gadus multipurpose greases. The multinational oil and gas company claims that these lubricants, when used in conjunction with each other, delivers greater long term value by reducing operating costs and extending service intervals. To quote Shell, using the Driveline products means less downtime, more done time.

In one given case study, a Sibu-based company – NB Heavy Industries Sdn Bhd reportedly saved nearly RM2.5 million in operating and maintenance costs annually after making the switch to using Shell Rimula engine oils. The company has a fleet of trucks that operate in various industries such as long-haul, construction, mining, agriculture and timber.

When using the Shell Spirax oil, another Sabah-based company in the plantation industry, Kokorotus Estate Sdn Bhd claims that oil drain interval for their fleet of tractors increased from 500 hours to 1,300 hours, an up-time of nearly three folds the duration! Total annual savings in this regard amounted to slightly below RM100,000.
