Another Chinese carmaker looks set to enter the Malaysian market. Arcfox is a premium EV brand under the BAIC umbrella, and the news sprouted following the appearance of the Arcfox Malaysia Facebook page.
Emerging reports online mention that GoAuto Group will be behind the marque’s Malaysian presence. GoAuto’s subsidiary, Intro Synergy, is (was?) the distributor for the Neta brand in Malaysia since 2023.
Arcfox states on its website that it aims to be present in more than 40 countries, focusing on six “major regional markets” – Malaysia has been listed on its website before the official social media pages appeared. The same Arcfox global website also carries four models for now, the T1, T5 and Kaola S crossovers together with the S5 sedan.
First up is the T1 compact crossover. There are two outputs available, both with a front-mounted motor. An entry-level 94 hp variant is complemented with another making 129 hp while two battery capacities can be had, a 33.4 kWh or 42.4 kWh pack with either a 320 km or 425 km range under the CLTC cycle.

Next comes the mid-sized T5, which is sold in China with a single front-mounted motor making 272 hp and 360 Nm of torque, fed by a 79.2 kWh ternary NMC battery. The battery is capable of being charged from 30-80% in 18 minutes.
Completing the crossover range is the Kaola S that features a unique sliding door on the passenger side with a regular hinged door on the driver’s side. It remains to be seen if this configuration will be swapped for markets depending on which side of the road they drive on.
In its native China, the Kaola S is powered by a front-mounted 204 hp and 255 Nm of torque motor with a 58.8 kWh LFP battery feeding it for a CLTC range of 705 km, or about 575 km on the WLTP cycle.
Lastly, the S5 sedan packs a heftier punch with a dual-motor, AWD setup putting 530 hp and 690 Nm of torque to the ground. It hits the century mark in just 3.7 seconds and the battery is a 74.4 kWh LFP pack.
