Puspakom launches new fast-track vehicle inspection service

Puspakom has rolled out a new fast-track inspection booking service called GiCheck Early Access Reservation (GEAR), according to a New Straits Times report. The pilot implementation of the programme will be available across the Batu Caves, Glenmarie, and Wangsa Maju branches, before the service expands progressively based on customer demand.

Debuting on 19 July 2026, the service operates exclusively on weekdays to offer extra slots when the standard booking slots are full or when urgent vehicle inspections are required.

For an introductory fee of RM150 per vehicle, the new service allows private vehicle owners, buyers and sellers handling ownership transfers to secure a next-day appointment.

Drivers opting for the service will get a dedicated priority confirmation sent directly through the GiCheck platform.

To keep the booking ecosystem fair for everyone, Puspakom is allocating only a small fraction of each branch’s daily inspection capacity to GEAR users, meaning standard slots will continue to be offered under the regular booking system.

“This will allow private vehicle owners an additional option when time is critical, while ensuring our existing appointment system continues to serve the wider public effectively,” said Puspakom Chief Executive Officer Mahmood Razak Bahman.

“Customers today increasingly expect services that are not only reliable, but also flexible enough to meet different needs and circumstances,” he added.
