Officially launched in Malaysia earlier this month, Chery Malaysia has announced that the first locally assembled (CKD) unit of the Chery Tiggo Cross has rolled off the production line at the Inokom assembly facility in Kulim, Kedah.
Speaking on the momentous occasion, Chery Malaysia Vice President, Michael Chew, said, “We are proud to assemble it right here in Malaysia, leveraging local capabilities and strategic partnerships that ensure we deliver global quality with local relevance.”
“Assembling the Tiggo Cross in Malaysia underscores Chery’s deep commitment to the local market while enhancing our capacity to offer more competitive, accessible vehicles. It reflects our broader localisation strategy and long-term vision for sustainable growth within Malaysia’s automotive landscape,” Chew added.
The Chery Tiggo Cross CKD is offered in Malaysia in two variants — the 1.5 Turbo and the 1.5 Hybrid CSH — both locally assembled, priced at RM88,800 and RM99,800 respectively, on-the-road and without insurance.

The base model is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 147 hp and 210 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 10.3 seconds.
The Hybrid variant, on the other hand, is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine that makes 102 hp and 125 Nm. Paired with a Direct Hybrid Transmission (DHT), the total system output is increased to 204 hp and 310 Nm of torque. The car can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 8.9 seconds and boasts a range of 1,000 km.

The Chery Tiggo Cross is priced from RM88,800 for the Turbo variant and RM99,800 for the Hybrid variant. Both come with a seven-year or 150,000 km warranty, while the Hybrid variant includes additional coverage, namely an eight-year or 160,000 km warranty for the battery pack, electric motor, and hybrid control unit.
Both variants of the Chery Tiggo Cross are also entitled to seven years of free towing service. Chery Malaysia is also offering an early bird package for the first 2,000 customers of the Tiggo Cross with two years of all-inclusive free service.
