Proton delivers 50 units of the Iriz to Metro Driving Academy

Proton has recently delivered 50 units of the Proton Iriz to Metro Driving Academy to be used at their Subang and Puchong campuses. The 50 cars were modified for driving school purposes by ACE, a subsidiary of Proton Global Services which specialises in custom builds and modifications.

Metro Driving Academy is a licensed driving academy that was established in 1998. It has been awarded the Best Driving Academy and 5-Star Rated Driving Academy by the Road Transport Department (JPJ). Proton delivered the 50 cars in a handover ceremony to the Managing Director of Metro Driving Academy, Encik Mat Aris Bakar.

Proton Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Roslan Abdullah said, “Proton is proud to continue to play a role in helping to educate and train new Malaysian drivers. The Proton Iriz is an excellent choice for new drivers as its combination of manoeuvrability, compact dimensions, and safety make it unimposing from behind the wheel. We are appreciative of the trust shown by Metro Driving Academy and hope this will encourage more driving schools to consider adding a Proton to their fleet.”

According to Proton, the most helpful feature for learner drivers would be the reverse camera and parking sensors in the Iriz. These provide both visual and audible parking assistance. The safety of learner drivers is also in good hands as the Proton Iriz was awarded a 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating and comes with a comprehensive list of safety features such as reinforced body structure using Hot Press Formed (HPF) steel, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS) and Hill Hold Assist (HHA).

Roslan Abdullah adds, “Driving schools are a great touchpoint for Proton to get closer to the younger generation. With the collaboration with Metro Driving Academy, we can showcase the USPs offered by our products and tap into the psyche of potential first-time car buyers.”

The 50 Proton Iriz delivered to Metro Driving Academy will certainly create memories for the learner drivers. Driving schools in Malaysia have always utilised a Proton or Perodua car in their fleet.
