Two potential upcoming Subaru models for Malaysia have been spotted, as seen in these images courtesy of an avid reader of AutoBuzz. The two cars are the Subaru Levorg STi and the Forester Turbo, photographed outside the brand’s Petaling Jaya showroom.
The Subaru Levorg seen in these photos features STI badging and aligns closely with the STI Sport and STI Sport EX variants available in Japan. Powered by a 1.8-liter turbocharged boxer four-cylinder engine, it delivers 177 hp (metric) and 300 Nm, transmitting power to all four wheels through a CVT.

The Levorg STI is reminiscent of the WRX Wagon, which debuted at RM285k in March 2023 but boasts a more robust FA24F 2.4-liter turbocharged flat-four engine generating 275 hp and 375 Nm of torque. Pricing for the Levorg STi is anticipated to be closer to its previous iteration, which carried a RM200k price tag.
Accompanying the Levorg STi is the Forester Turbo, also equipped with a 1.8-liter turbocharged boxer engine producing 177 hp (metric) and 300 Nm of torque. Distinguishing features include alloy wheels and twin exhaust outlets, enhancing its visual appeal and performance over the current Malaysian model, which houses a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine generating 156 hp (metric) and 196 Nm of torque.

Both models utilize a CVT transmission and all-wheel drive, offering enhanced driving dynamics suitable for various road conditions. With Subaru Malaysia transitioning to fully imported (CBU) vehicles from Japan starting in 2025, these new models signal a shift away from local assembly (CKD) operations.
As TC Subaru, the official Subaru distributor in Malaysia has announced in May this year that new vehicles sold by the distributor from 2025 will be fully imported (CBU) from Japan, the presence of these models could be a transition to the brand’s CBU Japan product line for the Malaysian market as the company is phasing out its CKD (local assembly) business model in Malaysia.
