Pininfarina Battista sets 6 world records! – 0-100 km/h in 1.86 s; 0-200 km/h in 4.75 s

A new EV record has been set by Pininfarina Battista by setting a 1.86-second 0-100 km/h acceleration time and a 31-metre braking distance from 100-0km/h. The new records were set by Luxury Italian carmaker Automobili Pininfarina during the Battista’s debut in UAE.

During its performance demonstration at the Dubai Autodrome, the Pininfarina Battista celebrated the following records:

  • 0-100 km/h in 1.86 seconds
  • 0-200 km/h in 4.75 s seconds
  • 100-0 km/h in 31 metres
  • 482 km (300 miles) range (combined EPA) – a world record for an electric hypercar

In non-metric units, the Battista set:

  • 0-60 mph in 1.79 seconds
  • 0-120 mph in 4.49 seconds

With that, the Luxury Italian carmaker Automobili Pininfarina has a car that is officially faster than the Rimac Nevera. The Croatian hypercar accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.97 seconds and 0-300 km/h in 9.3 seconds.

Powering the Pininfarina Battista is a Rimac-sourced quad-motor setup that makes 1,900 hp (metric) and 2,340 Nm. Storing power in the Battista is a 120-kWh battery pack that provides a WLTP range of 476 km, although it helped the Battista set a 482-km (EPA) ‘EV hypercar’ range record. On the Pininfarina website, the Battista is said to have a 0-300 km/h time of less than 12 seconds, which means it might be a little slower than the Rimac Nevera in this speed range.

Celebrating the Battista’s achievements, Automobili Pininfarina Chief Product and Engineering Officer, Paolo Dellacha said, “I am proud that our new electric hyper GT delivers on the promises we made when we set out our development plan. In Battista, we have achieved performance beyond our original, extreme targets.”

“Perfectly optimized weight distribution and low centre of gravity are at the heart of this result. The combination of bespoke chassis and suspension tuning, tyres proven over many thousands of test miles and four-motor torque vectoring delivering unprecedented power enables Battista to be the fastest accelerating road-legal car in the world.”

“Battista’s incredible technical package includes a carbon ceramic brake system, helping the Italian hyper GT become the fastest braking electric car in the world. Our discerning clients here in the UAE have been overwhelmed by the Battista driving experience, which is as breath-taking as its award-winning design.”

Also in the fraternity of the Pininfarina Battista and the Rimac Nevera is the Lotus Evija which is currently the “World’s most powerful production car”. With a quad-motor setup, it makes 2,000 hp (metric) and 1,704 Nm and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds.
