Honda launches new “Honda ON” online store in Japan

Honda in Japan has launched a new online store called Honda ON to allow Generation Z buyers to purchase cars through their smartphones, without ever visiting the dealerships.

The online store will serve as a one-stop centre with services including quotations, price negotiations and insurance purchases. The new initiative is meant to adapt and take advantage of the recent increase in online shopping and remote working.

Honda says the online store offers a user experience that exceeds customer expectations. Despite its focus on Generation Z buyers, the company said the online portal can be used intuitively by older customers.

In the online store, customers can learn more about vehicle subscription services, maintenance costs, taxes, monthly payments, and even insurance costs. Customers can even arrange for test drives through the portal for specific vehicles such as the N-Box, Fit, Freed, and Vezel (HR-V in Malaysia).

The best part is, customers can even browse through the User Generated Content such as owner reviews before they decide on purchasing the vehicle.

Once everything is finalised, customers will just have to pop by any of the 84 Honda dealerships in Tokyo to collect their new ride.
