The job of a delivery person is more dreadful than we can imagine. Not only are there datelines and loads of traffic to deal with, they do so in vans that oftentimes are underpowered, uncomfortable and most likely without air-conditioning.
Volkswagen has different ideas; as you can tell from their latest Transporter T6.1 Sportline Black Edition van that just screams Golf GTI from every angle. It comes with a price tag of £45,140 (approximately RM261,430).
It’s got plenty of grunt to go with the aggressive stance too; with over 204 hp and 450 Nm from a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. 0 to 100 km/h is done in just 8.9 seconds.
Aside from the red strips, the Sportline badging, and Black Edition decals, the Transporter T6.1 also comes with a new spoiler and sits on Eibach coilover suspension that lowers the ride height by 30mm. It also comes with illuminated sidebars.
Occupying the wheel arches are 18-inch alloys in gloss black but contrary to its Black Edition name, the Transporter can also be had in Indium Grey, Fortana Red, Ravenna Blue, and Copper, to mention a few.
Inside, creature comforts are aplenty with Nappa leather upholstery, suede trims, a fully digital instrument cluster, adaptive cruise control, and a rearview display through a 9.2-inch touchscreen. It’s even safe too – with autonomous emergency braking!
