RM4.8 million Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign showcased in Tokyo

Nissan will be showcasing a demo unit of the limited-edition Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign at its Nissan Crossing exhibition centre in Ginza, Tokyo.

The car exhibited was used for circuit driving in order to test the rigidity and durability of various exterior parts such as the body, rear wing, and carbon parts.

The GT-R50 by Italdesign was a joint effort by Nissan and the Italian design house to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Italdesign and the GT-R name.

The GT-R50 is based on the Nismo version of the GT-R but its 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine has been caressed to push out 720 hp and 780 Nm, from 600 hp and 652 Nm. Each engine has an Italdesign-exclusive 50 serial number on it.

Aside from the completely new rear end design, which has drawn mixed opinions for its unconventional looks, the GT-R50 by Italdesign also features an adjustable rear wing – an item not available in the standard Nismo production car.

In case you haven’t heard, the GT-R50 by Italdesign comes with a whopping price tag of – please be seated for this – €990,000 (approx. RM4.8 million ringgit).

According to Nissan, only a few units remain with deliveries expected to begin from mid-2021 after undergoing approval procedures in respective markets.
