Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has just announced that the Nissan X-Trail facelift is now open for booking to Malaysian buyers. There will be 4 variants available including a new 2.0-litre Hybrid option and the availability of the complete Nissan Intelligent Mobility advanced driver assistance system.
The X-Trail facelift is offered in the following variants – 2.0L 2WD, 2.0L 2WD MID, 2.5L 4WD and 2.0L Hybrid. Due to the additional battery pack for the hybrid system, the Hybrid variant is only available in a 5-seater configuration.
Unlike the product positioning of the Proton X70 and Honda CR-V, ETCM is offering the full suite of advanced driver assistance system for their range-topping 2.5L 4WD and 2.0L Hybrid. The system bundles Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking (FEB), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), High Beam Assist (HBA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Intelligent Around View Monitor (I-AVM) with Moving Object Detection (I-MOD).
The 2.0L 2WD MID spec is still decently equipped with LDW, BSW, RCTA and motion activated powered tailgate. The entry-level 2.0L 2WD only gets the I-AVM with I-MOD 360-degree camera from the list. It is also the only variant to come with four airbags while the rest of the range gets six as standard.
ETCM has not disclosed the full specification of the X-Trail facelift but features we can expect from the new SUV include new signature ‘V-Motion’ front grille design, revised signature LED Boomerang Daytime Running Lights and Headlights, Smoked LED Boomerang Tail Lamps, 7.0-inch Navi Infotainment System with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto ready, 5.0-inch Advanced Drive Assist Display, flat bottom multifunctional steering wheel, powered front seats as well as leatherette dashboard and knee pads.
The 2.0L 2WD variants of the X-Trail gets a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder and XTRONIC Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that delivers 144 hp and 200 Nm to drive the front wheels. The 2.5L 4WD gets a larger 2.5-litre naturally aspirated engine packing 171 hp and 233 Nm.
The 2.0L Hybrid features an MR20DD 2.0-litre petrol engine (144 hp/200 Nm) supported by an electric motor that generates 41 hp and 160 Nm from 0 rpm.
ETCM has annoucned that there will be five exterior colours available for the facelifted X-Trail – Brilliant White, Tungsten Silver, Titanium Olive, Diamond Black and Imperial Umber. Every purchase is also covered by a 5-Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty (includes Hybrid parts and Lithium Ion battery pack).
As for price, the facelifted X-Trail is estimated to cost RM139,900 for the 2.0L 2WD, RM149,900 for the 2.0L 2WD MID, RM159,900 for the 2.5L 4WD and RM169,900 for the 2.0L Hybrid.
