BMW is whetting appetites with more stunning shots of the G20 3-series

BMW just released a new spread of images of the new G20 BMW 3-series in the picturesque town of Portimao in Southern Portugal, from the recent International Media Launch, which we ourselves were privileged to be a part of.

Globally unveiled at the 2018 Paris Motor Show in October, the more aggressively-styled G20 3-series was initially offered in six different variants ranging from 318d to 330i with the latter capable of doing 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds.

Model Power Torque 0 to 100km/h Top Speed
320i 184 hp 300 Nm 7.2 secs 238 km/h
330i 258 hp 400 Nm 5.8 secs 250 km/h
318d 150 hp 320 Nm 8.5 secs 226 km/h
320d 190 hp 400 Nm 7.1 secs 240 km/h
320d xDrive 190 hp 400 Nm 6.9 secs 233 km/h
330d 265 hp 580 Nm 5.5 secs 250 km/h

BMW also made sure that the G20 had the excess styling (if needed) to go with its speed. If you thought those headlamps looked brash, wait till you check out the endless carbon trims and cross-spoke wheels among other add-ons from the M Performance Kit collection.

As a hint of what the new M3 could potentially do, a M340i xDrive was introduced in November – with 374 hp and 500 Nm of torque paired to BMW’s 8-Speed Steptronic – capable of hitting 100 km/h from a stand in just 4.4 seconds.

Not a BMW 3-series will be left wanting for power; certainly not its battery-laden models like the 330e.

The new G20 330e is said to offer an additional few litres of boot space with a new XtraBoost function that temporarily boosts the electric motor’s output to 109 hp while the vehicle is in Sport mode.
