F90 BMW M5 First Edition gets Frozen Dark Red paint, 400 units worldwide!

At the unveiling of the F90 BMW M5, the company has also unveiled a “First Edition” special commemorative model to celebrate the launch. The First Edition is limited to 400 examples worldwide and will be available for order alongside the regular M5.

For €19,500 (RM99k) premium over the standard M5, the First Edition is only available in exclusive Frozen Dark Red Metallic matte finish paintwork. It also gets the BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line trim that blacks out the kidney grille, M gills and four tailpipes. The black finish 20-inch seven double-spoke light-alloy are standard items here (optional on the regular variant).

Inside, the First Edition is furnished in Smoke White leather upholstery with red contrast stitching, reflecting the exterior theme. Piano Finish Black is applied on several trim panels as opposed to metallic finish on the regular model. The M multifunctional seats are also fitted as standard here. First Edition models also get a “M5 First Edition” plaque on the centre console with the car’s accompanying production number e.g., “M5 First Edition 22/400”.

No mechanical changes were made to the 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8. The powerplant generates 600 hp and 750 Nm of torque. Drive is channelled to all four-wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Thanks to the M xDrive all-wheel drive system, the First Edition M5 sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds with a limited top speed of 250 km/h. The latter can be extended to 305 km/h with the M Driver’s Package optioned.
