Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante loses roof for open skies

The Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato coupe we covered a few months back was quite a formidable British specimen, but allow us to introduce the sexier Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante.

Unveiled just recently at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, this red hot convertible is the latest creation to be spawned by a six-decade long partnership between Aston Martin and the Italian company, Zagato. aston-martin-zagato-volante-6

New here is of course the folding fabric roof. This replaces Zagato’s trademark double-bubble roof, but otherwise the aesthetics remain identical to the hardtop variant. At the heart of this sexy convertible is a 592 hp 6.0-litre V12 engine which takes just 3.7 seconds to sprint from standstill to the 100km/h mark, and boasts a top speed of close to 320km/h.

Interior wise, a new tan colour scheme accompanies the herringbone carbon fibre and anodised bronze detailing. But if you wish to take the styling up one notch, Aston Martin’s ‘Q’ division will be more than happy to assist you in personalising your prized Aston.

Just 99 units of the Zagato Volante will be made. At £500,000 (approximately RM2.63 million) a pop, it’s easily twice the price of a regular Aston Martin. But if it’s given the Zagato touch, expect it to be sold out by now.
