Pagani’s masterpiece, the blistering Huayra, has just received some pretty extreme makeover, giving birth to the Huayra BC. The car is named after Benny Caiola, who is actually Pagani’s first customer.
The Huayra BC drastically improves the already fast supercar in many ways, including adding active aerodynamics in the car. At the back, there’s a larger rear wing and a huge splitter at the front, both poised to maximise aerodynamic efficiency. The Huayra BC also underwent a strict diet by shedding a whopping 132kg off, resulting in a final weight of 1,218kg. To put that into perspective, our high-spec Proton Iriz weighs just 33kg less at 1,185kg! Even the mechanical handbrake was removed, and in its place an electronic parking brake.
Speaking about performance, the Huayra BC gets 30 hp more from its Mercedes-AMG 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine that now liberates 750 hp at 6,200rpm alongside 1,000 Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. However, the power isn’t finalised because Pagani aims to push it up to 789 hp!
There’s no word on its performance figures yet, but it should definitely be quicker over the standard Huayra’s 3.3 seconds century sprint and 360 km/h top speed. Its gearbox is also new, featuring a lightweight and redesigned seven-speed automated manual transmission. Other upgrades include a new electronic rear differential, new tripod axle driveshafts, HiForg aeronautic aluminium suspension, new titanium exhaust and customised custom Pirelli Zero Corsa rubbers.
Only 20 examples of this Huayra BC will ever be made, and it’s expected to cost close to 2.35 million Euros (about RM11 million). Also, naming a car after an important customer shows true top-of-the-line customer service from company honcho, Horacio Pagani.
