Lexus LC500h hybrid to debut at Geneva, may pack over 500 hp!

Lexus is set to debut the LC500h, a hybrid version of the recently unveiled LC performance coupe at next month’s Geneva Motor Show. Not bad considering that the LC was just launched at Detroit last month!

The LC500h will be utilising Lexus Multi Stage Hybrid System, which according to Lexus, “will provide higher performance, more driving pleasure and greater efficiency”. We’re expecting future Lexus models to adopt the same, if not similar electrification technology in the coming years.lexus-lc500-hybrid1

Now, we know for sure the LC500h exists, but the numbers its new hybrid propulsion make remains unknown at press time. What we know is it will definitely be more powerful than the LC’s naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 engine producing 467 hp and 527 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a single clutch 10-speed automatic which sends drive to the rear axle. It’s quick too, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds! However, the LC500h may just have what it takes outgun the LC.

Look out for more of this stunning 2+2 coupe tree hugging Lexus when it goes on display at Geneva in less than two weeks’ time! For all you know, the LC could be offered by Lexus Malaysia some years later.
