Even though the Passat B8 has yet to go on sale here in Malaysia, Volkswagen has announced the Passat Alltrack based on the Passat Variant.

The Passat Alltrack is 27.5 mm higher, and wears an all-round black plastic cladding for that rugged look. Unique set of 17-inch wheels, anodised silver roof rails, and “Alltrack” badges complete the exterior distinction from the regular Passat.

To match its butch looks, the Passat Alltrack is fitted with EDS (electronic differential lock), XDS+ and 4MOTION permanent all-wheel drive system. There’s also a special Offroad driving mode that alters the characteristics of the assistance systems.

Five engines are offered, a petrol 1.4 TSI with 150 hp, a petrol 2.0 TSI with 220 hp, and a diesel 2.0 TDI with 150 hp, 190 hp, and 240 hp. All engines feature a Stop/Start system and they comply with the Euro-6 emissions standard.

Inside is still essentially a Passat, with a neat dashboard and featuring a seamless passenger-side aircond vent. The Passat Alltrack is going to make its first public appearance at the Geneva Motor Show soon. What do you guys think, should Volkswagen Group Malaysia bring the Passat Alltrack here?
