2024 BMW 218i Gran Coupe Final Edition launched in Malaysia – sportier wheels, more black accents, RM234k

BMW Malaysia has unveiled a new variant for the 218i Gran Coupe called the Final Edition, which as its name suggests, should be a run-out swansong model for the current 2 Series, before an all-new model is unveiled and eventually makes its way onto our shores.

Locally assembled here in Malaysia, the new BMW 218i Gran coupe Final Edition is priced at RM244,400 on-the-road and without insurance, and inclusive of the extended five-year warranty and free service package (RM223,800 otherwise).

Its a slight RM5,000 premium over the regular 218i Gran Coupe M Sport variant, but you do get a few additional goodies on the Final Edition, particularly a blacked out front kidney grille and exhaust tip, courtesy of the extended M high-gloss Shadowline package, as well as a set of more aggressive-looking 18-inch Y spoke style 553 M bi-colour light alloy wheels (style 819 M on the regular M Sport).

Inside, the Final Edition gains an additional wireless charging pad, alongside a 205W 10-speaker HiFi sound system.

Also unchanged is the 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-three petrol engine, making 140 hp and 220 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission, enabling a century sprint time of under 8.7 seconds, onward to a top speed of 213 km/h.

The new BMW 218i Gran Coupe Final Edition will be offered in Skyscraper Grey, Black Sapphire, and Alpine White colour options, all paired to the same black leather inside with blue highlights. Every vehicle will come as standard with complimentary roadside assistance and accident hotline support, as well as access to the BMW Service Online system.
