Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia (JLRM) has finally introduced the diesel-powered Land Rover Discovery Sport, nearly a year since the petrol-powered Disco Sport made its Malaysian debut. At RM450k, the diesel variant is a full RM30k more than its petrol sibling, and that doesn’t include road tax, registration and insurance.
Equipment levels mirror the 2.0L Si4, but the only difference here lies under the hood – a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel producing 188 hp and 420 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission. Standard features here include Hill Descent Control, Terrain Response System, seven airbags, Roll Stability Control and Hill Start Assist.
Every purchase of the Discovery Sport 2.2L SD4 comes packaged with a 5-Year or 150,000km warranty, including a 5-Year or 80,000km free scheduled maintenance and 3-Year roadside assist, whichever comes first. Those interested in the 5+2 seater SUV can either opt for a 12-month free instalment plan or a cash rebate.
