SpyBuzz: Mercedes-Benz GLC spotted testing in Sindelfingen, Germany

The still-in-the-making Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class has been spotted outside a Mercedes-Benz Customer Centre in Sindelfingen, Germany where not one, but a fleet were spotted wearing minimal camouflage indicating an imminent launch date a few moons away.

This GLK-Class replacement (in line with the company’s new naming regime) will be based on the C-Class model, hence bearing the alphabet in the name. It’s rumoured to have a new 9G-TRONIC nine speeder box and powered either by a 1.8-litre turbocharged mill or the bigger 3.0-litre forced inducted V6 block.

Power is said to be distributed onto the black top via a permanent 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. We are also anticipating – as is the way with Mercedes – a tuned up AMG version, possibly spotting the same 360 hp powerhouse from the A45 AMG.

The interior on the other hand has touches of the outgoing C-Class. However, the elegant long sloping centre console we find in the W205 doesn’t seem to have manifested itself here. Mercedes has taken a rather different approach to the interior styling here with quilted two-tone leather upholstery on the seats and trim pieces.

There hasn’t been much word out on the launch dates and pricing but it is certain that it wouldn’t be too long from now. Stay tuned for the latest updates on the GLC!
