New 2026 Zeekr X open for booking in Malaysia – powertrain and interior upgrades, from est. RM160k

Zeekr Intelligent Technology Malaysia has officially opened the order books for the 2026 Zeekr X. While a confirmed launch date has yet to be announced, the updated model will be making its public debut at the upcoming 2026 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS).

Under the skin, the new 2026 Zeekr X receives significant updates to its powertrain lineup. Starting with the new entry-level Premium RWD, it now features a rear-mounted electric motor producing 340 hp and 373 Nm of torque. This marks a substantial increase over the outgoing model’s 272 hp and 343 Nm.

Charging performance has also been improved, with AC charging capability increased from 7 kW to 11 kW. As a result, a full charge can now be completed in approximately 7.5 hours. WLTP-rated range is quoted at 415 km.

The Flagship AWD, meanwhile, gains an additional electric motor on the front axle, bringing total system output to 496 hp and 573 Nm of torque. The added power trims the 0-100 km/h sprint by 0.1 seconds to 3.7 seconds. AC charging support has also been upgraded to 22 kW, allowing a full charge in around four hours. It also boasts a WLTP-rated range of up to 445 km.

While Zeekr Malaysia has yet to disclose battery specifications, the figures closely mirror those of the Chinese-market update. If that remains the case, both variants are expected to continue using the same 66 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack.

Visually, the Zeekr X remains largely unchanged, but it is set to gain additional premium features, including the power-operated doors first introduced on the larger 7X SUV.

The update also brings a new set of 19- and 20-inch wheels, alongside exclusive exterior colour options such as Onyx Black, Matte Khaki Green, and Porcelain Pink (exclusive to the Flagship AWD variant).

Inside is where the changes are more obvious. For starters, the steering wheel gains a new row of touch-sensitive buttons below the centre airbag, a larger 404-litre boot, heated and ventilated seats with massage functions, and a fridge below the centre armrest.

Zeekr Intelligent Technology Malaysia General Manager, Eddy Liu, said, “With enhanced performance, meaningful feature upgrades, and a more refined design expression, the 2026 Zeekr X is designed to meet the expectations of drivers seeking an electric vehicle that combines innovation, style, and everyday usability.”

The new 2026 Zeekr X is expected to be priced from RM160,000 to RM180,000 and is set to make an appearance at the upcoming Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) taking place from 12 to 21 June at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur.
