2025 Lexus RX 500h F Sport Special Edition launched in Malaysia – 50 units only, priced from RM513k

Lexus Malaysia has quietly launched the new Lexus RX 500h F Sport Special Edition, a new exclusive variant of the D-segment SUV limited to just 50 units. As shown via a post on its Facebook page, the new Special Edition model is priced from RM512,888, on-the-road without insurance, which is RM4,000 more than the standard Lexus RX 500h F Sport on which it is based.

So, what does the extra RM4,000 get you? We hope you like black, because this Special Edition is completely covered in it. Based on the model’s webpage, the special edition SUV will come exclusively in a new Graphite Black paint job, and is equipped with a Black Sport Package.

This package adds piano black front and rear bumper trims, matching black side rocker panels, and a revised design for the 21-inch alloy rims, which are also finished in—you guessed it—matte black, alongside F Sport emblem puddle lights.

Additionally, Lexus Malaysia states that the Special Edition will be equipped with an “upgraded suspension.” However, the company did not elaborate on what these upgrades entail. This is especially curious given that the RX 500h F Sport already comes standard with an F-Sport-tuned suspension that includes adaptive dampers and a Dynamic Rear Steering system, the latter of which allows the rear wheels to turn up to four degrees.

Otherwise, the powertrain for the RX 500h F Sport Special Edition remains identical to its standard sibling. It is powered by a 2.4-litre turbocharged inline-four engine, mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox and two electric motors for an all-wheel drive setup courtesy of the e-axle at the rear.

Total system output is 371 hp (273 kW) and 550 Nm of torque, which enables the SUV to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 210 km/h.

Likewise, the interior remains unchanged from the standard F Sport model. It features Lexus’s driver-focused “Tazuna” dashboard design, which includes a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment display with integrated rotary dials for the three-zone climate control. This is paired with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a full-colour head-up display.

The cabin is also appointed with exclusive F Sport trimmings, including a three-spoke F Sport steering wheel in dimpled leather, suede upholstery with “Kageri” L-Pattern embossing, and F Sport dark spin aluminium trims throughout the interior.

As before, the Special Edition is equipped with the Lexus Safety System+ suite of advanced driver assistance features, which includes dynamic radar cruise control with stop and go and curve speed reduction, lane departure and lane tracing assist, and road sign assist. Also included is Lexus Teammate Advanced Park, which features an automated parking function, rear-cross traffic alert, and a 360-degree surround view monitor.

Limited to 50 units in Malaysia, the Lexus RX 500h F Sport Special Edition is priced at RM512,888. Included in the price is a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, alongside an eight-year warranty for the hybrid systems, optionally extendable to 10 years of coverage.
