Proton X50: Over 110k units sold across 12 countries since 2020

The Proton X50 has certainly been a crowd favourite ever since it first made its debut back in 2020. But how liked, exactly? Well, in less than four years since its introduction, Proton has delivered over 110,000 units of the B-segment SUV to new owners.

And it’s not just Malaysia, either, because the Proton X50 has been exported to 12 countries, including South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, Nepal, Fiji, Mauritius, and Bangladesh! These cars have collectively covered over 4.1 billion kilometres – enough to circle the earth more than 100,000 times!

The Proton X50’s donor car, the Geely Binrui/Coolray on the other hand, has sold over 770,000 units across 51 left-hand-drive markets.

The updated 2024 Proton X50 has just been launched in Malaysia earlier today, offering several quality-of-life improvements, all at no extra cost. The key highlight of the update is the upgraded 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display, that is now also standard across the range.

Other enhancements include the over 20 NVH improvement parts, alongside an upgraded 360-degree surround view monitor (Premium and Flagship variants), with better cameras, 3D views, and a blind-spot view upon activation of turn indicators.
