Facelift Volkswagen Arteon R-Line to arrive in Malaysia soon!

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has started teasing us with the arrival of the new Arteon R-Line on their social media pages.

The facelifted model is also set to be equipped with the intelligent 4Motion all-wheel drive system, as highlighted here in its website and register-for-interest link.

To recap, the facelifted Volkswagen Arteon unveiled in Europe a year ago include a redesigned front fascia, featuring a new light bar across the front grille, making the daytime running lights forming an almost-continuous light bar from end to end. At the back, the taillights also have a new lighting signature.

Inside, the dashboard has been heavily restyled for a more modern appearance. The air-conditioning vents have been made slimmer accompanied by an updated trim pattern, while the new steering wheel and air-conditioning panel features touch-sensitive switches, similar to the items used in the facelifted Volkswagen Tiguan unveiled last month.

Apart from a mid-cycle cosmetic facelift, Volkswagen also launched a Shooting Brake version of the Arteon as well as the Arteon R. The gorgeous Shooting Brake features a visually striking rear fender that arches out to a sculpted tailgate bringing out memories of the Scirocco three-door hatchback.

VPCM formally introduced the Arteon R-Line last year, featuring the same 190 hp/320 Nm turbocharged 2.0-litre engine from the new Passat sedan driving the front wheels.

However, being targeted at more keen drivers, the Arteon R-Line features Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) as standard, offering up to 15 selectable increments in five different driving modes – Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, and Individual as well as 19-inch wheels.

We are hoping VPCM introduce the Arteon Shooting Brake model soon too! Fingers crossed!
