It looks like 2014 is going to be a good year for petrol heads in the movies. Apart from Fast and Furious 7 on Summer 2014, one can look at the Need for Speed movie coming Spring 2014. The movie, based on EA’s ever popular Need for Speed video game series, will feature a wide range of super exotic fast cars together with chases from the police. Think Need For Speed HotPursuit and a “no brainer” Hollywood plot and you pretty get the picture.
Directed by Scott Waugh (Act of Valor 2012, xXx 2002) and starring Jesse Pinkman of Breaking Bad TV series fame, even the synopsis of this movie is filled with cliché.
Framed for a crime he didn’t commit, muscle car mechanic and street racer Tobey (Aaron Paul) gets out of prison determined to settle the score with the man responsible for his false conviction.
Nevertheless, the action scenes are like typical Michael Bay Hollywood fare so expect some good old rubber burning actions, as shown in the trailer below. Unless if you’re looking for a good petrol head movie, we suggest ‘Rush’, starting today nationwide.
