Mention names like Pikes Peak and Sebastien Loeb and you know this is something legendary and special. The 9 time World Rally Championship (WRC) driver’s champion has since then pulling of from competing in the WRC in 2013, and has poised to take new challenges in 2013. One of them is participating the Pikes Peak hill climb race. Loeb will be driving a specially tuned 800HP+ Peugeot 208 T16 on the unlimited class, marking Peugeot return to this famous event since Ari Vateren did it on the famous “Climb Dance” video during 1988 Pikes Peak.
In fact Loeb has shown that he is in fact probably the best driver in the world as he has clocked an astonishing 8:13.878, hence winning this year’s event and breaking the Pikes Peak Record. This follows by Rhys Millen with his specially tuned Hyundai PM580T at 9:02.192, which shows Loeb was masterful to have finish the event with 45 seconds advantage over the next driver. At average, a good driver with a very powerful car can complete the tight and twisty mountain pass at average 10 minutes and the masterful Loeb has completed at 8 minutes, the only driver to do so.
