Having officially retired from Formula One by the end of 2012 doesn’t mean F1 legend Michael Schumacher has to hang his racing helmet. Just recently, he has now back into his original roots where his he began his single wheel racing adventures, which is karting.

Schumacher has signed to be a test driver for the Italian kart maker Tony Kart in 2013. He will be also racing in karts in the KZ Category this year as well. While tested his new kart in the Lonato circuit in Italy, his laptimes were reported to be “very good”. Hopefully we can win some like how he used to be in F1.

Also part of Schumacher’s post F1 plans is to develop a new world championship-standard karting circuit near Cologne, Germany. He will be collaborating with renowned F1 track designer Hermann Tilke on this. The new karting circuit will be the best track in Europe.

Looks like Schumacher is going to be busy in 2013 and beyond.
