The Scion FR-S, based on the Toyota GT86 and Subaru BRZ models, has created more excitement in the United States. Scion, the Toyota arm which is introduced for the younger market in the US, will launch the FR-S in 2012. Meanwhile, Scion has prepared the FR-S to participate in the Formula Drift competition.

Revealed at the Detroit Motorshow 2012, Scion, together with tuner GReddy, will feature parts from Cosworth, KW Suspension, Sparco and RAYS. It is also revealed that this beast will produce approx 600BHP and will be driven by Formula D veteran, Ken Gushi. Expect this car to compete in the 2012 season of Formula Drift in the United States.

We found a video showing Ken Gushi testing the Scion FR-S, and from the looks of it, he likes it! We can’t wait to see this machine in Formula Drift 2012!
