Last weekend’s Formula One grand prix in Suzuka, Japan, saw reigning Formula One driver’s champion Sebastian Vettel, took the driver’s title for the second year in a row, after finishing the race in third. The German wunderkid only needed one point to clinch the driver’s championship with 4 races remaining in the 2011 calender.

Vettel, 2011 Formula One World Champion!

Formerly known as the “crash kid”, Vettel has silenced his critics by driving superbly and maturely with full dominance in the 2011 campaign with team Red Bull Racing. Won a total of 9 races, finished on pole position for 12 times and finished every races except one (forth in German GP) in podium. That is how this 24 year old has achieved with 4 races to spare. He is not only the youngest points scorer in F1 but also youngest race winner, the youngest F1 driver’s champion abd with his feat in 2011, he is the youngest double F1 world champion.

Dubbed as the “New Schumacher” is an honour to this young chap since F1 legend Michael Schumacher was one of his heroes when he was young. Vettel is actually one of the most interesting F1 drivers around due to his cheeky personality, one of it is having to name his cars from Julie (2008), Kate, Kate’s Dirty Sister (2009), Luscious Liz, Randy Mandy (2010) and Kinky Kylie (2011). Even his appearance in Top Gear was entertaining, and managed to set the fastest lap time in the Suzuki Liana.

Even the Red Bull crew did his famous hand signature!

Our congratulations to Sebastian Vettel, he is in fact a true F1 legend in the making. Guess we will see his famous trademark “No 1” finger gesture for many years to come. Meanwhile enjoy this video made by a F1 fan in Youtube.
