What a race it was. On the final lap of the race, a rare mistake by Sebastian Vettel has given opportunity for Jenson Button to pass him and a few corners later took the chequered flag and win the dramatic Canadian GP. The rain hit Canadian GP at the street circuit of Circuit Gilles Villeneuve saw the creation of two new records in F1 history. One for the longest F1 race in 4 hours 4 minutes and 39 seconds as the heavy rain bought the race into halt for 2 hours. Another is the most safety car deployment in a single race, where the safety car was deployed 6 times.

Mark Webber took third after defeating Michael Schumacher into fourth on what supposed to be Schumacher’s chance to podium after his return to F1. Anyhow, here’s our list of the heroes and zeroes of Canadian GP!

Biggest Disappointment: Tie between Michael Schumacher and Kamui Koyabashi. We have reasons why we felt the disappointment for both Scumacher and Koyabashi. Both of them did very well during the race and was on route on finishing in the podium. For Koyabashi, started in second after the race restarted and then finish in 7th is not necessarily bad since he started in 12th, but it is disappointing. Perhaps he needs a good team and car to get his first podium. Red Bull everyone?

For the Red Baron, on the dying minutes of the race he was second but the more superior machine of Red Bull’s Mark Webber and McLaren’s Jenson Button were no match with Schumacher’s Mercedes. We will be happier if he scores his first podium after his return to F1. Just too bad it didn’t happened.

Blooper of the week: That silly marshall F1 finally has an entry for Canada’s Funniest Home Video after all! Check that video and see that poor marshall fell down and almost hit by the Sauber and Renault car during a safety car period.

Don’t mess with me award: Jenson Button. On lap eight, the aggressive Lewis Hamilton was on the verge of overtaking his team mate on the straights but got fed off by Button, causing Hamilton to tangled with the wall, hence wreaking his left rear wheel and suspension which ended his race. Trust this is a message from Button to Hamilton “Don’t mess with me buddy”. A well deserved lesson from Button to Hamilton, as shown in the video below.

The last lap screwup award: Sebastian Vettel. Under tremendous pressure from the flying Button got into Vettel’s nerves. It could be win no 6 for 2011 for Vettel should he kept his cool, but unfortunately he didn’t so. Watch this video and see how Button won this dramatic race by having Vettel screw up his race!

WAG of the week: Jessica Michibata. There are a few Wifes and Girl Friends (WAGS) shown in the TV broadcast of F1 which includes Schumacher’s wife Connie and Button’s famous girl friend, the lingerie model Jessica Michibata. Seeing Jessica in emotional joy after his man overtakes Vettel and winning the race was sheer joy. We felt her happiness, as much as us seeing her lingerie pictures, oh wait…

Driver of the Race: Jenson Button Started at 7th, Button survived a drive through penalty, five pit stops, went back to last position, clashes with team mate Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, 6 safety car periods, plus a series of nail biting duels with Michael Schumacher, Mark Webber and finally Vettel marks this as Button best F1 victory in his career. For that we cant agree more. He gets the victory, the trophy and the girl. A true zero to hero racer!
