Malaysia and perhaps South East Asia’s best drifter, Tengku Djan Ley, has confirmed to participate in the last 2 rounds of Formula Drift USA 2011 season. He will be picking the Las Vegas and Irwindale rounds which will fall on August 26-27 and October 7-8 respectively. He will be driving his 180SX powered by an American muscle engine, the LS7, in which is actually a 5.7cc V8 engine that powers the Chevrolet Corvette C5, Camaro and Holden Commodore. That powerful engine in a lightweight coupe might explain the massive tyre smoke every time he goes sideways.

Tengku Djan has become a Drift Alliance Ace in June 2010 which is an elite membership for top drifters in the world, and earlier in February he finished in second place at the Formula Drift International event in Qatar. Djan should have a busy year in 2011 and let’s hope he will raise our hopes high in Formula Drift USA!
