Lamborghini is honouring the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy by crafting a special edition Lambo, the Gallardo Tricolore. This ‘national car’ has a three-colored Italian flag stripe stretched across the hood, the driver’s seat and the roof.

This special edition Gallardo will be officially launched on March 16 in Turin. “To celebrate the 150 years of Italian unity we felt that it was appropriate to propose a tri-color livery for our most successful model, the Lamborghini Gallardo,” said the company’s CEO, Stephan Winkelmann. “With the Lamborghini Gallardo Tricolore we give a further impulse to the development of the ‘Made in Italy’ label in the world.”

Another Italian automaker, Fiat, will also be honouring this special year with a special car, a lot cheaper one. The Fiat 500 by Gucci as reported in our blog previously.

However, no technical details and number of unit they plan to build yet. 150th anniversary, 150 units maybe?
