Prior to the official launch of the updated Ford Ranger, Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) had the idea to let us experience the lifestyle of a Ranger owner. With the keys to the Ranger XLT+ 2.0L variant, we headed off to Port Dickson for Jet Skiing.
Aesthetic changes are minor with the updated Ranger, but the biggest highlight is the new powertrain option, the 2.0-litre EcoBlue Si-Turbo (single turbo) diesel engine that replaces the old 3.2-litre five-cylinder turbodiesel mill. The new four-cylinder oil burner pumps out 180 hp and 420 Nm when paired to the first-in-class 10-speed automatic transmission.
There are a total of nine variants of the Ford Ranger available including the top of the line Ford Ranger Raptor that is set to make its official debut at the 2018 Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS).
