Video: 2018 Updated Ford Ranger, Things You Need To Know



Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC), the official distributor of Ford vehicles in Malaysia has just launched the updated Ford Ranger range to keep the tough pick-up truck ahead of the competition. With eight variants available, here are things you need to know about the updated Ranger:

There are three engine options available for the Ranger – 2.2-litre four-cylinder TDCI turbodiesel (160 hp/385 Nm), 2.0-litre EcoBlue Si-Turbo (single turbo) diesel (180 hp/420 Nm) and the 2.0-litre EcoBlue Bi-Turbo diesel (213 hp/500 Nm). The 2.2-litre TDCI unit is paired to either a six-speed automatic or manual transmission while the new EcoBlue engines are paired to Ford’s new 10-speed automatic transmission.

The range-topping 2.0L Wildtrak 4×4 features not only best-in-class engine output but also first-in-class advanced driver assist systems with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Autonomous Emergency Braking with vehicle and pedestrian detection (AEB), Lane Departure Warning and Assist as well as Semi-Automatic Parallel Parking (SAPP).

Prices for the basic Ranger 2.2L XL starts from RM90,888 to RM103,888 while the Ranger XLT is priced from 109,888 to RM124,888. The top of the line Ranger Wildtrak 4×4 variant retails for RM144,888 while the Wildtrak 2.0L 4×2 is priced at RM134,888.
