The Ranger Raptor commands a much greater visual impact compared to its siblings, sitting 320 mm wider and 150 mm taller.

This allows the Ranger Raptor to command an approach angle of 32.5 degrees, ramp over angle of 24 degrees and departure angle of 24 degrees to overcome every obstacle it may come across. It also spots the FORD lettering front grille, functional air curtains, composite front fender and blacked out alloy wheels.Inside, you’ll find the sporty intentions of the Ranger Raptor more apparent with sportier seats, red centre marking on the multifunctional steering wheel, magnesium paddle shifters, blue contrast stitching as well as Ranger Raptor specific user interface on the SYNC 3 infotainment system and instrument cluster.Motivation comes from a new 2.0-litre EcoBlue Bi-Turbo diesel engine pushing out 213 hp and 500 Nm of torque linked to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Separating the Ranger Raptor from a regular Raptor are the Fox Racing Shox dampers tuned by Ford Performance and the Terrain Management System (TMS) that puts the pick-up truck into six driving modes – Normal, Sport, Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud/Sand, Rock and Baja.

The latter was named after the famous Baja Dessert Rally and is calibrated to give the driver maximum high-speed off-road performance.

The new Ford Ranger Raptor will be fully imported from Thailand as the Ford Thailand Manufacturing (FTM) plant is the production hub for the Asia Pacific region. SDAC has highlighted that the Ranger Raptor has garnered tremendous interest from buyers despite not knowing how much it costs.Knowing its significance of the first-ever Ranger Raptor and the performance it offers, how much would you pay for one? You will have to wait for the official announcement happening in November at the 2018 KLIMS.
