Remember Sabine Schmidt’s taxi driving days on the Nurburgring in the BMW M5? Well Jaguar has decided to offer the same action with the Jaguar XE SV Project 8, having made its mark as the fastest saloon car to lap the legendary circuit.
The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 “taxis” will be driven by Jaguar’s professional drivers in excess of 250 km/h. Passengers will get to experience G-forces of more than 1.3 G around the circuit that spans across 73 turns.
The two-seater Project 8 Race Taxi is also joined by the XJR 575 Race Taxi – the fastest and most powerful XJ in the model’s 50-year history.
Jaguar Race Taxi experiences are available until the circuit closes in mid-November and will be offered throughout the open season in 2019, at the price of €199 (approx RM 946) per lap where bookings can be done online.
To recap, the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is equipped with a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 generating 592 hp and 700 Nm of torque, with power channeled to all four wheels through an eight-speed Quickshift transmission. 0 to 100 km/h takes merely 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 322 km/h.
