New 991.2 Porsche 911 GT3 RS arrives in Malaysia

For those of you eager to catch a glimpse of the 312 km/h top speed “race car for the road and occasionally the track”, the 991.2 Porsche 911 GT3 RS will be on display in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur till 14th October 2018.

Armed with a 4.0-litre high-revving naturally-aspirated engine, a 7-speed PDK transmission and a 9,000 rpm rev limit, the new GT3 RS makes well over 500 hp (20 hp increase), it’s only 0.4 seconds behind the GT2 RS from 0 to 100 km/h with a time of 3.2 seconds; the GT2 RS does it in a blinding 2.8 seconds.

Despite a 200-hp deficit from the GT2 RS, flat-six screamer can still lap the Nurburgring in under seven seconds at 6:56.4. To put things in perspective, the new GT3 RS is a whopping 24 seconds quicker than the model it replaces!

Since you’re already splurging, Porsche has made the Weissach package available for additional weight savings with carbon components for the chassis, interior and exterior. All in all, it helps the GT3 RS shed approximately 17 kg of unwanted body fat.

Exisitingly, the GT3 RS is already equipped with the Clubsport package where equipment list includes an anti-roll bar, a fire extinguisher, battery cut-off switch and a six-point hairness for the carbon fibre full bucket seats.

The retail base price for the new 911 GT3 RS starts from RM 2,230,000 excluding insurance and includes a 4-year warranty. Sime Darby Auto Performance, official distributor of Porsche vehicles in Malaysia will also be displaying the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo at the same venue.
