Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has just introduced a new limited-edition variant of their seven-seater SUV, the Mitsubishi Outlander Sports Edition. Only 120 units of this special edition variant will be available, priced at RM142,888 (OTR without insurance).
For RM5,000 more than the standard Outlander 2.0L 4WD it is based on, the Sports Edition gains visual enhancements in the form of a dual-tone paint scheme – Red Metallic body with Ruby Black Roof, black dynamic shield front grille, 18-inch multi-spoke alloys in gloss black, extended roof spoiler, black tailgate trim and diffuser inserts as well as an “OUTLANDER” emblem on the hood.
Inside, you’ll find new dual DVD rear entertainment screens and red accent floor mats with Sports Edition embroidery. Equipment list remains the same as the enhanced Outlander which was introduced last Raya with leather seats, multifunctional steering wheel with cruise control, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Gesture Control, dual-zone automatic climate control, digital video recorder (dashcam) and security tinted film for all windows.
The same 2.0-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated MIVEC petrol engine that pushes out 145 hp and 196 Nm of torque paired to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) to drive all four wheels. The Outlander is also equipped with the intelligent 4WD system that allows the driver to cycle between three driving modes – 4WD Eco, 4WD Auto and 4WD Lock according to their driving needs.
On the safety front, the Outlander Sports Edition comes with seven airbags, ABS and EBD, Active Stability & Traction Control (ASTC), Hill Start Assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts and all-round view monitor.
