Volvo Cars Malaysia has unveiled the all-new XC40, the 2018 European Car of the Year, which will be available in CKD form and in a single variant – the T5 AWD R-Design.
Despite being the youngest member of the Volvo SUV family, it’s by no means under-equipped. Under the hood rests a 2.0-litre turbocharged Drive-E that makes 252 hp and 350 Nm. Despite weighing a hefty 1.7-tonnes, it can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds.
Priced at RM 255,888 (OTR without insurance) the all-new Volvo XC40 T5 AWD R-Design will no doubt give the likes of BMW’s X1 and X2, the Mercedes-Benz GLA and GLC a good run for its money.
Heck, if I were you, with RM300k or so to blow on an SUV, I’d be crying from the overwhelming sense of fickle-mindedness.
