Watch this Jaguar XE SV Project 8 blitz through Laguna Seca to a new record

Hot from the heels of its record-breaking run as the fastest saloon around the Nurburgring, the Jaguar XE SV Project 8 has cemented its status as the world’s fastest four-door sedan by setting yet another new track record.

It recently lapped the Laguna Seca in 1 minute 37.54 seconds– almost a second faster than the previous production sedan record – with racing driver Randy Pobst behind the wheel.

The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is the ultimate expression of Jaguar’s XE sports sedan with only 300 hand-built units ever made. Underneath the hood is a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine mated to an eight-speed Quickshift automatic ZF transmission.

0 to 100 km/h takes just 3.3 seconds with an electronically-limited top speed of 200 mph (321 km/h).
