Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan lands in UK, 1.5L diesel & 1.3L turbo petrol

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan is now officially on sale in UK and deliveries of the new compact sedan will commence from early 2019. UK customers have two variants of the A-Class Sedan to choose from – A 180 d and A 200.

Like the A-Class hatchback, the Sport Line sedan comes highly equipped with LCD instrument cluster, 7.0-inch MBUX touchscreen multimedia system with “Hey Mercedes” voice activation, Artico and Fléron fabric upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, comfort suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Speed Limit Assist and Keyless-Go starting function.

Stepping up to the AMG Line and you’ll get goodies such as 18-inch AMG alloy wheels, AMG body kit, Artico and Dinamica microfibre upholstery and a three-spoke sports steering wheel. There are a number of options available for UK customers such as upgraded 10.25 infotainment screen, Active Parking Assist, heated front seats, dual 10.25-inch Widescreen Cockpit, 64-colour ambient lighting, illuminated door sills, Keyless-Go, upgraded sound system and a rear armrest.

The Premium Plus equipment line option packs all of the aforementioned kit and adds electronically powered front seats with memory function, multibeam LED headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam and a panoramic sunroof.

Two engine options are available for UK-bound A-Class sedan, a 1.5-litre turbodiesel with 116 hp and 250 Nm for the 180 d and a 1.3-litre turbo petrol with an output of 163 hp and 250 Nm. Both engine variants are paired to a seven-speed 7G dual-clutch transmission.

In UK, the A-Class sedan is slightly pricier than its hatchback counterpart with a starting price of £27,875 to £29,295. Now, should we expect this gorgeous thing to come to our shores?
