Kia ProCeed teased, 5-door shooting brake to debut in September



In 2017, Kia Motors presented their Kia Proceed Concept at Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) that previews the styling of their next-generation hatchback. Fast forward to today, the Korean carmaker is ready to officially unveil the production version of their concept car on 13 September 2018.

Officially called the Kia ProCeed, the new car is designed, developed and engineered exclusively for the Europe market – just like its predecessors. Kia calls the new ProCeed a “five-door shooting brake”, staying close to the design sketches of the concept car.

In the single teaser image, we see the LED taillamps are connected by a light bar that spans the length of the tailgate. A design very similar to the Sportage and Stinger. If the designers are sticking with the concept car’s design closely, we may see a front end that is essentially a watered-down Stinger, sharp and aggressive are the best adjectives to describe it.

Looking at Kia’s recent models, the Korean carmaker is moving into cars that are not only sharp but also highly desirable. The only downside is that only our European friends will be able to own one of these while the rest of the world can only drool from afar…
