Rocket scientist explains why the new McLaren 720S is so quick

Contrary to what most of us believe, power is not everything. You may have 1,000 hp but if your car has the aerodynamic attributes of a bus, the millennia of horsepower will never be utilised efficiently.

That brings us to the McLaren 720s – a car so influenced by aerodynamics in its design that’s even more “airflow-friendly ” than a Pagoda singlet.

It’s all very geeky, but honestly if you can spare seven minutes of your limited attention, you’d be amazed at the lengths McLaren has gone with the construction of the 720S and the effects of all the aerodynamic features on the car.
